The University of Tartu (UT) HPC Center provides a modern and secure computing environment for training and running artificial intelligence (AI) models. The service provides access to high-performance GPU computing resources via UT’s local HPC cluster, the Rocket, and via LUMI – one of Europe’s most powerful supercomputers.
The infrastructure is suitable for developing, fine-tuning, and running machine learning and deep learning models for research, development, and production. It supports a wide range of AI workloads, including large language models (LLMs), computer vision models, predictive models, and other machine learning applications.
For users who prefer to avoid the technical complexity of deploying, configuring, and managing language models, we also provide access to pre-configured models through our inference service. This allows developers and researchers to focus on building applications and developing new AI solutions without managing models, infrastructure, or supporting systems. The service provides access to modern language models through an API compatible with the standard OpenAI API specification, enabling straightforward integration with existing applications and development tools while reducing implementation effort.
To ensure performance and reliability, the service automatically scales according to workload demands, making it suitable for both small-scale experiments and large production workloads.
The UT HPC Center combines top-tier computing infrastructure with expert support, helping users turn AI projects from initial concepts into production-ready solutions. Users can quickly get started with widely used frameworks such as PyTorch, vLLM, and Ollama, with technical guidance available for each. We also provide a Kubernetes platform that enables reliable deployment, management, and scaling of containerized applications.
