These terms of use describe the terms of use of the public online environment (hereinafter the online environment) of the Estonian Scientific Computing Infrastructure (hereinafter ETAIS) and describe how we process the personal data of our users and all other data subjects in connection with the use of the online environment.

To use the online environment, you must agree to the following terms of use.

The online environment is a public environment introducing ETAIS, located at https://etais.ee

1.1. The online environment is managed by the University of Tartu Research Computing Center.

1.2. The online environment consists of a public view, which can be accessed by anyone interested without logging in, and where it is possible to view public information.

1.3. The processing of personal data complies with the data protection conditions of the University of Tartu (https://ut.ee/en/content/data-protection-policy).

1.4. The controller of personal data is the University of Tartu, registry code 74001073, address Ülikooli 18, 50090 Tartu, e-mail andmekaitse@ut.ee

2.1. Any activities that may damage the functioning of the online environment or are contrary to legislation are prohibited when using the online environment. If prohibited activities are identified, the University of Tartu Research Computing Center has the right to restrict the user’s access to the online environment.

2.2. The user must immediately report any known or suspected security flaws and prohibited activities in the online environment to the University of Tartu Research Computing Center.

2.3. The user has the right to obtain confirmation as to whether or not we are processing your personal data.

2.4. The user has the right to withdraw their consent at any time, where personal data is processed on the basis of the data subject’s consent. This does not affect the lawfulness of the data processing carried out before the withdrawal of consent.

2.5. The user has the right to request the deletion of their data. If the user requests the deletion of their data, we will delete the data concerning the user, unless there are other legal grounds for processing or we are legally obliged to retain the data. In any case, we will delete the user’s data after the end of the retention period.

3.1. The online environment service is offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

3.2. The online environment is used only over a secure connection (HTTPS).

3.3. The web environment is hosted on servers located in Estonia, managed by High Performance Computing Center of the University of Tartu.

3.4. Up-to-date security updates are installed on the web environment’s servers and database software.

3.5. The online environment is backed up weekly.

3.6. The University of Tartu High Performance Computing Center offers user support related to the use of the web environment via e-mail support@hpc.ut.ee.

3.7. The University of Tartu High Performance Computing Center is not responsible for any malfunctions in the functioning of the online environment caused by circumstances beyond the control of the University of Tartu High Performance Computing Center.

4.1. The University of Tartu High Performance Computing Center, as the controller, processes personal data in accordance with the data protection conditions of University of Tartu (https://ut.ee/et/sisu/andmekaitsetingimused).

4.2. The web environment server log files, which contain the user’s IP, the user’s web browser type and version, the user’s operating system, the user’s activities and data related to the activities, are stored for three years. The legal basis for collecting such data is legitimate interest. This information is necessary to monitor the operation of the web environment, identify problems and security holes, and audit the environment.

4.3. The University of Tartu High Performance Computing Center processes personal data related to the online environment to provide user support for the online environment.

This website may contain links to other websites, but these terms of use do not address how other websites process personal data.

The University of Tartu Center for Scientific Computing reserves the right to change and update these Terms of Use if it is deemed necessary or if this need arises from legislation.

Users are advised to read the Terms of Use from time to time to be aware of any possible changes. Using the online environment after the Terms of Use have been changed indicates that the respective user has read, understood and agreed to the new version of the Terms of Use.
